Workshop at IEEE ITSC2021: Communication between AV and Human Traffic

This workshop is devoted to building a joint platform to gather multidisciplinary researchers from both academia and industry who focus on the research of communicational scenarios, human factors and HCI to exchange their ideas and questions about the communication issues between AVs and HTPs in the interaction. This is very different from the fact that researchers only focus on their own domain. Instead, in this way, psychologists analyse and evaluate human traffic partners' behavior and decision-making process, researchers from engineering develop their solutions about how autonomous systems detect the intent of HTPs, and designers then can adapt their strategies for HMI design. These disciplines such as engineering, psychology and design will form a loop that can influence each other. A novel and comprehensive AVs-HTPs communication research framework is supposed to build in this workshop.
