Aim of the Module
The module imparts basic knowledge about the analysis and presentation of geodata (general) and deepens the knowledge in handling GIS software. On the other hand, the practice project imparts basic skills for surveying in the field. The students are able to use GIS software fundamentally to solve simple spatial problems. Using cartographic methods they can convey spatial information. Furthermore, they are able to carry out a topographic survey of the terrain and to evaluate it mathematically.
Contents of the Module
Methods of spatial analysis on vector and raster data, possibilities of graphical presentation, generalization of spatial data. The exercises deepen the lecture material and the use of the ArcGIS software.
