The courses offered at the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics cover the basics of handling spatial data. The functionality of geoinformation systems is taught and insights into the use of GIS products are given. In addition, we impart in-depth knowledge in geoinformatics - starting with the basics of computer science, spatial access structures, geometric analyses and visualization. Further courses in robotics, spatio-temporal statistics and Big Data round off the range of courses in Data Science. While a broad knowledge base is built up in the basic modules, the advanced modules impart specialist knowledge on the latest and most efficient concepts and methods, which are directly incorporated from current research. In practice-oriented seminars, students apply their knowledge and deepen it in a special field.
